Healthcare advertising isn’t boring. Or at least, it doesn’t have to be. Some of the best work in advertising is happening in this space, either despite the onerous regulations around it, or (my personal theory) because of them. It can be tougher to crack, but the limitations make a powerful solution feel all the sweeter. Here are a few examples that I think prove my case.

Hologic - Project Health Equality
Not all women are treated equally by the health system, leading to unnecessary pain and heartache, disease and death. Women of color have higher rates of breast and cervical cancer and, once diagnosed, are more likely to die from these cancers than white women. So we said enough. We said it’s time for us to do more – to take a bigger, bolder, more committed and active role in serving the health needs of these women. Because when we solve for their needs, all women will benefit. Project Health Equality was made to do more than acknowledge the inequality and indignity women of color experience in our healthcare system every day—it was made to do something about it.

Abbvie - Here to There
Here to There is an unbranded campaign for Vraylar, a treatment for bipolar I.
Bipolar I is different for everyone, so we wanted to insert ourselves into that journey in a way that could resonate with anyone—without judgment, and without telling people experiencing bipolar what to do. “Here to There” is all about meeting people where they are, and helping them clear the obstacles to managing their bipolar I. That might mean medication, but it might also mean a combination of medication, talk therapy, support groups, even music. Whatever gets them from where they are to where they could be

Pfizer was having trouble with recruitment for clinical trials, in part because some people who were interested in participating didn’t have a good idea of what they’d be getting into. We created videos, infographics, and other website content to help set them more at ease.
